Itinerant music teacher

Listed on 13 February 2018, closes on 28 February 2018

Part time, Fixed term, Start Date: 26/02/2018, End Date: 12/12/2018, FTTE up to: 0.3 (Development of music programme)

Sector: Secondary (Years 7-15) / wharekura

Role: Certificated teacher

Our college is looking to grow and enhance the provision of itinerant music for our students. We are looking for a keyboard teacher, who is confident working with groups for 3 hours per week. Ideally you will be able to help as a technician, and in other areas for our music department. There is the possibility of a job share arrangement.

Our college is a Y9-13 school in Auckland serving a largely Pacific Island and Māori population. Our students' families are in many cases first or second-generation New Zealanders who moved here for a better life and opportunities for their children, and this is reflected in the family aspirations.

As a school, we are committed to providing an outstanding music programme. The school has gone through a period of significant improvement in the past 4 years and we are currently looking for excellent practitioners who can continue, and build on, our students' successes.
