Literate months are ahead for many Christchurch students with nearly 36,000 books being donated to the children affected by the Canterbury earthquake.

The books were distributed through 34 schools on May 9th, 2011 by the Paper Plus Group in partnership with Duffy Books in Homes.

Lyle Hastings, marketing manager of Paper Plus Group, says: “Books are an important part of the lives of all kiwi kids. We are extremely grateful for the generosity of our customers helping those children who may currently be without their favourite books.”

The Paper Plus Group supported the NZ Red Cross 2011 Earthquake Appeal and donated a total of $150,156 to the charity at Spreydon School in Christchurch.

“We hope this contribution helps in a small way towards the rebuilding of Christchurch,” Hastings says.
