The song of two Y10 Kristin students, Eleanor Lang and Stephanie Townsend, was chosen for the official Olympic Games CD in a London soundtrack competition.
The girls’ entry is one of four secondary school entries to be included on the ‘Anthem in Black’ CD which will be promoted by the NZ Olympic Committee during the build-up to the games.
The Committee, in conjunction with Play it Strange music trust, recently launched a nationwide search for the soundtrack to the London Olympics and approached schools to join the competition.
Entrants were required to submit a student-composed song that best reflects our nation’s pride and ambition for our athletes at London 2012. The objective was that it had to be a song that the stadium could sing.
Eleanor and Stephanie’s song now competes to become the official ‘song of the games’.
