Dyslexia conference presents latest research

A small group of reading and dyslexia specialists of the Education Weekly are on their way to the International Dyslexia Association’s (IDA) annual conference in Phoenix, Arizona.

The conference’s title “Reading, Literacy and Learning!” reflects that the content extends far beyond dyslexia and contains valuable information on reading, literacy and mathematics, as well as cognitive skills, such as learning, attention and working memory.

Our NZ delegation will meet with the founder of the Sonday Programme, a reading intervention programme, and will visit a number of Phoenix schools, in which the programme is successfully used.

The IDA conference speakers present the latest research and information on dyslexia for both educators and parents.

IDA is a non-profit, scientific and educational organisation, dedicated exclusively to the study and treatment of the specific language disability known as dyslexia. For more information on the IDA Conference, please visit www.interdys.org.
