Announcing a new range of Macmillan education ebooks

Macmillan Education is pleased to launch a range of 55 Macmillan Readers and Macmillan Books for Teachers titles for the iBookstore platform, opening a flexible new range of English learning materials for use on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
The Macmillan Readers series is a popular range of abridged classics and contemporary fiction, and biographies for learners of English. Extensive reading has long been established as an essential way to improve language acquisition*, and these readers are perfect for motivating class and independent study. Best sellers include Robin Hood, The Picture of Dorian Grey and Dracula, as well as new biographies such as Nelson Mandela.
The Macmillan Books for Teachers series has been written to guide teachers worldwide on effective theories and techniques for practical teaching situations. Amongst the titles now available on the iBookstore is the favourite 700 Classroom Activities ideal for quick ‘on the go’ reference for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
On the launch of these eBooks, Richard Nathan, Managing Director for Digital ELT & Services and Macmillan English Campus, said: “As we move towards education anywhere, any time, Publishers need to ensure that their content is available through multiple multi-media channels as digital delivery offers new realms; we’re very proud at Macmillan Education to have launched this first wave of eBooks on the iBookstore so quickly.”
Emily Rosser, Publishing Development Director Secondary & Readers, said: “Macmillan has always been ahead of the curve in responding to changes in customer learning habits and the launch of Macmillan Readers on the iBookstore is another step towards ensuring that our top quality content is available in whichever form our customers want to interact with it.”
55 titles became available on the iBookstore from August 31st 2010 in the three European markets where the iBookstore application is currently available: France, Germany and the UK. They will be available in other countries as the iBookstore application is globally released.
