Big OE back on the menu

“The dollar is strong, the pound is low and there are jobs aplenty” – that’s the word from one of the major UK recruitment agencies, Robert Walters. With that in mind, not only are the famous Big OE Evenings on again this year, they are bigger than before and they now include even more international destinations.
This year, the evenings will move beyond the traditional UK to also include Ireland, Europe, Canada and the USA. The High Commissions and Consulates from all of these countries will be making appearances at various Big OE evenings.
Major sponsor of the Big OE Evenings, STA Travel, says OE enquiries for the upcoming season have been coming in thick and fast. “An overseas experience is probably one of the biggest and most rewarding experiences many people will ever have, and there is definitely a lot of interest out there for the OE again,” says Anna Henwood from STA.
International sponsor Britbound will be coming over from the UK, along with NZ NEWS UK.
Thanks to the sheer variety of exhibitors, this year’s Big OE Evenings will offer a wealth of information and practical advice on everything OE related – including passports, visas, study options, volunteering and all aspects of finding a job and traveling around the world. Exhibitors also include an array of recruitment agencies, tourist boards, the IRD, rail and coach tour companies and Adventure Travel Experts.
The open format evenings are free to attend and will again feature free seminars from visiting experts who will offer practical advice on ‘what you should know before you go’ – including money exchange, accommodation, airfares, insurance, clubs, baggage shipment, tax and CV’s.
Along with a heap of prizes up for grabs, one lucky person will also walk away with a free airfare. If you are thinking about leaving NZ and heading away on a big OE, this series of evenings will be invaluable.
Dates for Evenings are:

Wellington – 20th October, 2010, Deloitte Gallery, Lvl 4, Westpac Stadium, 4:30pm until 7:30pm
