LunchMate; a Young Enterprise Company of five senior students from Macleans College, launched its school lunch-ordering website at Owairoa Primary School, Howick, Auckland, last week.
The motivation for the development of this innovative product is the benefits it provides all stakeholders:
- Convenient ordering system for parents using debit cards and credit cards.
- Parents know what their students are eating.
- Healthy Diet is promoted on the website.
- Students do not have to carry money to school.
- Students do not have to queue for lunches.
- Tuckshops will have accurate data to increase efficiency and increased patronage.a
The directors wish to acknowledge Owairoa’s willingness to pilot the platform at one school before growing the service to schools nationally.
LunchMate were judged first in the Counties-Manukau Region Young Enterprise Oral presentations earlier this year.
The managing director, Chuck Slogrove is currently representing NZ in an international Entrepreneurial Competition in Singapore. He was one of six to represent NZ in this event.
