On the lighter side...

There is plenty of sadness from the events just over a week ago, in Napier and lots of things for schools to consider when being put in ‘lock up’.

After a few tense hours of being locked up, the mood was lifted and gave our staff a few laughs when they found out they were to be transported back to school by army truck from our new home at the evacuated hall.

Have you ever tried climbing into one of these vehicles?

The teachers were only allowed to come back into the cordon area to collect their cars. For some staff members who had children at our school, it meant their children got to share in the army truck experience as well.

Recommendation: Trousers and walking shoes are essentials to keep in your classrooms for such events.

Thanks to Karen Dibley of Napier Central School for sending us these photos.
