Applications for popular tertiary scholarships open

Three tertiary education scholarships, two worth $5000 and one worth $2500, are being offered again this year by the Mike Pero Mortgages Foundation, for students planning their first year of tertiary study in 2010.

“We are very pleased to announce applications for the scholarships programme, now in its fourth year, are now open and run until 27th August,” says Shaun Riley, chief executive officer at Mike Pero Mortgages.

Last year the scholarship programme again proved very popular with over 600 applications, all of an extremely high standard, from around the country.

“We are also thrilled to see previous scholarship winners are thriving at university and their results reflect this,” says Mr Riley.

“It has been wonderful to hear their stories and updates and realise the Mike Pero Mortgages Foundation has been able to make a real contribution to the success of these outstanding young people.”

The scholarships are open to prospective first-time tertiary students aged between 17 and 25. Any recognised programme of full-time tertiary study in NZ will be considered.

Applications for the 2010 Mike Pero Mortgages Foundation Scholarship Programme are open until Thursday 27th August, 2009, with application forms available at: www.mikepero.co.nz

The successful recipients will be announced in November.
