Top scholarship award winners
NZQA has confirmed the Premier Award and Top Subject Scholarship Award winners for 2008.
A total of 29 students made up the country’s 10 Premier Award and Top Subject Scholarship Award winners, with several students winning awards in both categories.
To receive a Premier Award, students in 2008 attained at least four Scholarships at “Outstanding” level.
“We are very impressed by the results of Scholarship Award winners in 2008, and are particularly impressed by the number of students who won Scholarship in multiple subjects,” says deputy chief executive Qualifications Bali Haque.
“We would like to congratulate all students who have achieved Scholarships in a very competitive environment.”
Premier Scholarship Award winners are:
- Emily Adlam – (also Top Subject winner in Latin, Physics and Statistics and Modelling), Diocesan School for Girls.

- Jacob Diggle – (Top Subject winner in Art History), Wellington College.

- Arkesh Patel – (Top Subject winner in Science), Westlake Boys’ High School.
- Ella Tunnicliffe-Glass – (Top Subject winner in Geography), St Cuthbert’s College.
- Heath Vinicombe, Westlake Boys’ High School.
- Timothy Vogel – (Top Subject winner in Chemistry), Mount Roskill Grammar School.
- Thomas Wilkinson – Papa-nui High School.
- Xiaoxiao Ye – (Top Subject winner in Maths with Calculus), Rangitoto College.
