A business partnership with flare, is exactly what Evans Bay Intermediate is enjoying with one of their local banks.

The Kilbirnie National Bank branch manager Sean Woodcock approached EBIS last year to talk about things that the bank could do as a means of partnership with the school.

The bank has a large front foyer area which has been literally turned into a “walk in” Art Gallery.

“Evans Bay Intermediate has a reputation for having outstanding art work. Stamatoula Boolieris is an exceptional artist herself and what she gets out of every student, is nothing short of incredible,” said principal Wendy Esera.

“A teacher makes the biggest difference to student achievement. Ms Boolieris is a perfect example of this. Her passion, warm relationships, energy and enthusiasm combined with her skills and knowledge of art, make her the great teacher that she is.”

Local MP Annette King, officially launched the EBIS Art Gallery. Members of the public waiting to be served at the bank, can now feast their eyes on magnificent artworks.

Students in the school’s Art Extension Programme, provide the work that is delivered to the bank at the end of each term.

“This is a wonderful way that we are able to showcase the talent of our students in our local community,” Ms Esera said.

“The school appreciates this very generous gift of a gallery from the National Bank. I receive regular comments from parents and members of the public about how lovely it is.”
