Marking is underway

The 2008 examination focus has turned to marking nearly 1.9 million answer booklets covering 322 NCEA standards and 28 Scholarship subjects.

A team of 2200 markers around the country will mark all papers before Christmas with NCEA results scheduled to reach the 139,000 candidates by mid-January and NZ Scholarship reaching nearly 9000 candidates in mid-February.

NZ is one of the only countries in the world to return marked examination papers to students – an important part of the transparency of the NCEA and Scholarship systems.

Marked NCEA exam papers will be returned to students from the end of January. Scholarship papers will be returned with results.

All examination papers sat by students this year are already on-line on the NZQA Website: www.nzqa.govt.nz
