New CEO for Learning Media

Jerry Rickman, chair of state-owned enterprise Learning Media Limited, has announced the appointment of David Glover as the company’s new chief executive. He replaces Gillian Candler who was farewelled recently after almost six years as Chief Executive.

“The board is delighted to have appointed an individual who has both a strong commitment to education and a long track record in the world of business and securing organisational success,” said Mr Rickman.

David will be leaving his current Auckland-based role of managing director of David Forman Ltd to take up the CEO position in Wellington. Previously he was engaged in senior positions with McCann Erickson in London, Indonesia, Sydney and Auckland.

David holds an MA (Hons) degree from Cambridge University, UK, and is on the board of the NZCER. Other recent roles have included as director and president of the Sales and Marketing Institute of NZ, and membership of the Auckland Board of the Human Resources Institute.

David Glover takes up his new position on 12th January, 2009. Steve Gregan will be acting CEO until that time.
