Trade Me supporting Plunket

Plunket and Trade Me are celebrating one year of partnership. Through seller donations, over $55,000 has been raised and Plunket are really excited to see that so far, over 320,000 listed auctions have been chosen to donate.

In October last year, Trade Me announced that it would be supporting NZ children by giving members the opportunity to make a donation to Plunket.

All sellers need to do is select “Plunket” when listing an item for auction and the seller’s fee will be rounded up to the nearest dollar with the difference being donated to Plunket – donating to charity couldn’t be easier!

“It’s great to be working on a project like this with a cutting edge organisation like Trade Me. Plunket as an organisation, always looks for new and innovative ways to support NZ families and their children,” says Paul Baigent, Plunket’s CEO.

“We’re pleased by the response over the last year and are delighted to see our members supporting Plunket,” said Mike O’Donnell, Trade Me’s head of commercial.

“As awareness increases, we’d like to think we’ll see the level of support increase further still. When we looked around last year for a NZ organisation to support, we wanted to find an organisation that truly represented community. None did that better than Plunket.”

Donations help to provide Plunket services such as the car seat rental scheme, which provides parents with a variety of affordable, safe car seats for their children; free parenting education courses, so that parents can understand how their child develops and learns; parent groups which give parents the opportunity to get together and learn from each other in a fun, relaxed environment; and PlunketLine – 0800 933 922, a toll free telephone advice service available to all families, whanau and caregivers from 7.00 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week.
