New to Nickelodeon from National Geographic Kids, Toot & Puddle

Toot and Puddle.

This November Nickelodeon launches the world-renowned and much loved National Geographic Kids preschool series, Toot & Puddle.

Putting the world into context for young viewers, Toot & Puddle follows the adventures of two fun-loving, inquisitive but very different best friends.

Toot is a young pig-on-the-go, a globe-trotting adventurer. He loves to explore and is constantly on the lookout for any new challenge or untried experience.

His best friend Puddle is the back yard explorer who, although loving to travel, takes even greater pleasure in finding excitement closer to home.

The show is designed to encourage exploration and adventure, both at home and afar, by piquing preschool aged children’s natural curiosity about the world around them. With an inviting visual style, the illustrative style of the series was inspired by the gorgeous and whimsical illustrations by Holly Hobbie in her New York Times best-selling book series.

When travelling to locations such as Tibet, Paris or Belize the piggy pals will meet local characters and be exposed to native customs that are endemic to each particular setting.

The best friends’ cosy home in Woodcock Pocket is the warm and woodsy setting for many of Toot and Puddle’s back yard adventures, including playing in the mud!

When jetting off to an exotic new locale, Toot and Puddle never know who they might meet or where they might end up. They interact with various characters including their curious little cousin Opal, a Chinese mystic named Dr Ha Song, their nervous neighbour Otto the turtle and a red kangaroo named Desmond, who arrives as a visitor and is so enchanted by this woodsy community that he decides to stay.

Toot and Puddle’s innate desire to learn and their willingness to go where life leads them gives this show a real sense of unbridled joy and discovery.

Toot & Puddle premieres on Nickelodeon NZ (SKY Channel 41) on Monday 24th November.
