Wellington careers expo this week
Job-seekers and employers will both stand to benefit from changes made to the country’s largest and longest-running Careers Expo series when it makes its Wellington stop in August at TSB Bank Arena (Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th August).
More than 40,000 job-seekers will pass through the Careers Expo gates over the course of the event series in Wellington, Auckland, Dunedin and Christchurch (already completed). More than 130 companies, government agencies and educational institutions participate as exhibitors.
“In the 16th year of the series, we are promoting The Careers Expo to a much wider job-seeker audience, which creates opportunities for employers to interact with candidates of all ages, skill sets and levels of experience, as opposed to the traditional high-school only audience,” says organiser Mark Gillard.
The Careers Expo is the only event series of its kind to offer free entry to all visitors, as well as a long history of buy-in and high participation from secondary schools, a long-standing partnership with Career Services, a well-attended Teachers Night that showcases all career options to teachers, and a Seminar Programme that offers more in-depth information on specific careers options.
