New option to help overcome skills shortage
Northland businesses constrained by a lack of skilled workers now have a new, free tool to help overcome the skills shortage.
Enterprise Northland has formed a 12-month partnership with New Life NZ, a company which specialises in recruiting skilled and eligible candidates in the UK and assisting their move to NZ, removing much of the complexity, legwork, cost and risk involved in recruiting staff from overseas.
The company already has a presence in the UK, running five seminars a month there.
Wages/salaries and investments drive increase in income
In the June 2007 quarter, the average weekly income for all people from all sources was $667, Statistics NZ has said. This information comes from the annual NZ Income Survey, which is run during the June quarter (April to June). The survey provides a snapshot of income statistics on people and households.
The $667 average weekly income was an increase of 9.4 per cent from the June 2006 quarter average of $610.
